The beauty at pandukeshwar

Pandukeshwar  is believed to have been established by King Pandu, father of the Pandavas, where he is said to have worshipped Lord Shiva. It is situated at 4 kms from Govind Ghat, 219 kms from Kedarnath and 24 kms from Badarinath. There are two temples – one for Lord Yoga Badari Narayan, (handed over to King Pandu by the demigods) and the other for Lord Vasudev. During winter, Lord Vasudev temple functions as the abode for Lord Badari Narayan and all the daily rituals connected with His  worship are performed here, with the utsava deities of Lord Badri Vishal (ie: Uddhva) residing here for the period. Both the temples are centuries old. Also it is believed to be the birth place of the Pandavas, where they spend their childhood, when Maharaja Pandu was staying in the forests after giving up his kingdom.
